Trauma

Unit

The Trauma Unit, part of the Orthopaedics Unit, was created for the treatment of fractures of the upper and lower extremities.

It also deals with possible outcomes related to trauma: pseudarthrosis, acquired deformities and post-traumatic osteoarthritis.

A further field of interest is the treatment of sport trauma: capsular, ligamentous and joint injuries of the shoulder, knee, ankle.

It also treats degenerative joint diseases: shoulder, hip and knee osteoarthritis.

The surgical activity, carried out in ordinary hospitalisation and day-surgery, is therefore particularly dedicated to:

  • Trauma of  the upper and lower extremities
  • Arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder, knee, ankle and elbow
  • Shoulder, hip and knee prosthetic surgery
  • Foot surgery
  • Hand surgery
