Patient care at the University Hospital

At the Campus Bio-Medico University Hospital, volunteers offer assistance to patients in full harmony with the medical and administrative staff.

In particular, volunteers take care of:

  • Making patients who are confronted with suffering on a daily basis feel less lonely through their contribution of solidarity on a human and social level. The volunteer offers friendship, companionship, help and a willingness to listen
  • Supporting and informing family members and hospital users according to the guidelines received
  • Raising awareness about blood donation, participating in solidarity, voluntary and cultural initiatives that take place at the University Hospital and at the Campus Bio-Medico University of Rome
  • Collaborating in the promotion and support of fundraising activities for scientific research

Volunteers provide their support free of charge, to the exclusion of any technical-professional tasks which are the responsibility of healthcare staff. All volunteers work in full respect of the patient's privacy and with the utmost discretion. They are clearly recognisable as they wear an orange and blue waistcoat.
