Non-Invasive Cardiology


The Non-Invasive Cardiology Unit, part of Cardiology Unit, performs a wide spectrum of activities dedicated to in and outpatients aimed at preventing and diagnosing cardiovascular diseases, including:

  • heart valve diseases
  • heart failure
  • cardiac arrhythmias
  • cardiomyopathies
  • ischemic heart disease
  • pericardial diseases
  • carotid and peripheral vascular diseases
  • structural heart diseases (interatrial and interventricular septal defects, patent oval foramen)

The clinical and instrumental activities of the Non-Invasive Cardiology Unit include:

  • Clinical consultation
  • Electrocardiogram
  • Transthoracic echo
  • Transoesophageal echo
  • Eco-stress (dobutamine)
  • Doppler ultrasounds of the supra-aortic arteries
  • Exercise tests (treadmill and bike)
  • Basic and comprehensive non-invasive cardiological screening

The above mentioned clinical and instrumental evaluations are provided through the National Health Service coverage, or as private practice (specific plans available).
