Care-related infections

Conference on hospital infections

The COVID-19 pandemic has dampened the attention paid to several other health issues, including Healthcare Associated Infections (HCAIs) which are of great clinical, organisational and economic impact. They have been studied and addressed in Italy for almost 40 years, ever since they were simply called hospital infections. Resistance to antibiotics and their over-consumption, in accordance with the findings of WHO Europe and the European Centre for Infection Control, the strengthening of prevention measures, risk management and the resulting costs are just some of the topics that will be discussed at the conference. Scientists and practitioners will speak about how to address the emerging issues and the multidimensional impact of HCAIs and will explain what the future might hold and how to cope with it, thanks to the commitment of planners, researchers, companies and healthcare professionals.
