Vascular Surgery Unit

The Vascular Surgery Unit addresses a wide array of surgical diseases affecting the aorta, carotid arteries and other blood vessels. They prefer the use of minimally invasive techniques, including ‘open’ interventions and through the implantation of endoprosthesis. Specializing in revascularization for saving limbs with critical ischemia, they utilize techniques that involve smaller incisions, such as the mini-laparotomy procedure, with the aim to reduce the overall length of hospital stays. The Unit also deals with the treatment of tumors of the blood vessels, both primary and secondary.

Within the Vascular Surgery Unit operates the Centre of Phlebology that operates:

The Vascular Surgery Unit works closely with the Units of Cardiac Surgery, Thoracic Surgery, Endocrinology and Diabetology, Neurology and Gerontology.
